Johnnie was born the youngest son of John Thomas and Ruth Stokes Green in Amarillo Texas on March 28, 1928.
After serving in the Navy, he returned to Houston, Texas, where he was introduced to his wife and the love of his life Jo Ann Wilson. They moved from Houston to Spring, Texas to raise their two daughters and two sons. He resided there until his passing.
He was employed by Houston Belt & Terminal Railway as a switchman and retired in 1990 after 35 years of service.
Working outside, building things and loving to figure out how things work were a favorite past time. Before his illness, he was an avid reader of the bible and historical facts and information relating to the life of Jesus.
While missed by us here on earth he is now reunited with his loved ones in the presence of our Lord.
Johnnie is preceded in rest by his parents, John Thomas and Ruth Stokes Green; his brothers, Marion, Irvin, Stokes, Leroy, J.R., and Valton Green; his sisters, Betty Ruth Green and Lenora Chaney; and his daughter, Martha Havemann.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Ann Green; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Curtis Parr; his son-in-law, Chris Havemann; his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Deniece Green; his son, James Green; his grandchildren, Lindsey Parr, Joshua Parr, Jason Havemann, Jared Havemann, Zachary Green, Courtney Green, Cheyenne Green, Sean Kay and Aaron Kay; and his great-grandchildren Brooklyn Scully, Zayden Solomon, Olivia Havemann and Wyatt Havemann.
