Kelly Lynn Lester, 52, of Spring, Texas entered into rest on August 25, 2020. She was born in Houston, Texas on April 9, 1968 to parents Janice Phipps and Danny Phipps. Kelly went on to graduate from Conroe High School, where she formed lifelong friendships with Stephanie Sisley, Therese Pringle, and Pam Ortego.
On April 5, 2009, Kelly married the love of her life, Jerome Lester. As a proud member of Spring Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, Kelly was immensely faithful, fearless, compassionate, selfless, and hardworking, and throughout her diagnosis remained as strong and charismatic as ever. Kelly loved to be outside and was her grandkids’ greatest supporter. She would cheer them on at all their school soccer, football, softball, and basketball games. As competitive as she was caring, Kelly also spent countless hours throwing darts, going bowling, playing softball, and watching the Astros games with her family and friends.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Jerome Lester; daughter, Jerri Lynn Holmon (James); stepchildren, Donald Lester, Jr., Shane Lester, Racheal Lester, Duncan Lester, and Melanie Lester; grandchildren, James S. Holmon, Dalton Sedita, Rilee McKown, Karli Lester, Isaiah McKown, Elijah McKown, Maverick Lester, Reagen Lester; siblings, Penny Dillard, Stephen Rice, and Monica Phipps; granddog, Hope Holmon; grandcat, Mallie Holmon; pets, Sophie and Parker Lester. Kelly was preceded in passing by her mother, Janice Phipps on September 28, 2008, and her beloved pet Shilo Lester.
A funeral service will be held in Kelly's honor on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 beginning at 12:00 p.m. inside the Chapel of Spring Baptist Church, 633 E Louetta Rd, Spring, TX 77373. Following this, she will be escorted to the Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338, where she will be laid to rest.
