

Lula enjoyed many things in life, gardening, sewing, quilting and most of all her family. She was a grocery checker until her retirement where she became a caretaker for those in need. Lula was a member of the Humble Church of Christ, and a charter member of the Alliance of Retired Americans. She was also a member of the Retail Clerks Union Local 455.
Lula was preceded in rest by her parents, John Tillman and Myrtie Easley; her siblings,V.D. West Jr., Allie Willie West, Lura Estelle Tillman Davis, Myrtie Marie West Hester, Ella Mae West Cox, & Lou Evelyn Tillman Himburg; and two great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Betty Jane Rice and Richard Rice, Shirley Ann Brooks Embry, Lila May Reid Waring, & Edward Allan Reid and Peggy Reid; her grandchildren, Jane Elizabeth Rice Smith, Tammy Ann Brooks, Cheryl Elaine Brooks, Angela Michele Thomson Noack, Michael Craig Thomson, Jessica Sue Waring Ranzeiro, John William Waring, Erica Annett Reid Zwahr, Brandon Philip Reid and Rebekah Linn Reid Londene; her 25 great-grandchildren, & her 7 great-great-grandchildren. Lula also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends to treasure her memory forever.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 13th, 2017 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14th, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Calvary Hill. Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery after services on April 14th, 2017.
