Lula went on to graduate from George Washington Carver High School in Navasota, Texas, and mastered her craft at Hicks Beauty School in San Antonio, Texas. She had a knack for making everyone feel beautiful.
Lula was a woman of strong faith, and during her life was a proud member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Navasota, Texas, Fountaine First Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and finally Bethany Baptist Church SBC in Houston, Texas. There she served with the Mother's Board, BBC Warriors, Church on Wheels, and the Usher Board.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents and older sister Bettye. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Cassandra Williams (Craig), sons Freddie Adams Jr, Michael Adams and Ralph C. Sneed (Kimberlyn), sister Deloris Evans (Anderson), nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Lula will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethany Baptist Church, 7304 Homestead Rd, Houston, TX 77028. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, 7304 Homestead Rd, Houston, TX 77028. A committal service will occur Friday, May 7, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338.
