A native of New Iberia, Louisiana, Mary grew up there in a loving family, the youngest of six children. She attended grade school and high school at Mount Carmel and then completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Soon after graduating, she married the love of her life, Michael Krall Jr., of Pittston, Pennsylvania. With her husband, she raised three children – Michael III, Mary Ellen (Sissy), and Patrick. For 25 years, Mary taught at Hirsch Elementary School in Spring, Texas.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, dedicated to creating a loving atmosphere for her husband and three children. In later years, she was known as “Mammy” to her ten grandchildren and is deeply loved by them all. Her numerous friends give evidence of her kindness, fun-loving nature, and love for everyone. Mary is recognized for her devotion to her beloved Lord and His Blessed Mother through the Catholic Church. For the last 33 years, she served at her parish, St. James, as a religious education instructor, member of the parish council, leader of Rosary Makers, and member of Catholic Daughters. Now she moves on to meet Christ, whom she has so faithfully served here on Earth.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nell DeGravelle, and brother, Bill DeGravelle.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Michael; her three children Michael and wife Katie, Mary Ellen and husband Ted, Patrick and wife Diane; and her ten grandchildren Michael, Alison, Natalie, Audrey, Emily, Ellie, Teddy, Tommy, Grace, and Patrick. Also surviving are her siblings - Walter DeGravelle, Alice Lowery and husband Herb, Cam DeGravelle and wife Judy, and Fernand DeGravelle; her mother-in-law Louise, her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kern and husband Richard, and numerous nieces and nephews.
