Maurice brought the best out in people. I knew him through his daughter, Christine, as she brought him to daily Mass, and by the stories she would tell me about him. I enjoyed sitting in the same pew as he did so I could chat with him before he had to leave. Sometimes his comments led me to understand his sense of humor and I laughed as he smiled to see that I "got it". I love seeing father-daughter relationships around me and the one Maurice and Chrisitine shared was one to marvel at. Maurice indeed brought the best out in people, just as Jesus does with us. What a great man!

We got to know dear Maurice several years ago when his beloved daughter, Christine, would bring him to Daily Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas. He had a progressive illness that made it difficult for him to walk and when he began to need help going to Holy Communion someone from our Parish, often an ACTS brother, would help him walk to receive the Sacred Host and Precious Blood. When he became wheel chair bound someone from the Parish would either wheel him up to receive Holy Communion, or the Priest or Deacon or EMHC would come to him. As Christine was often Sacristan or Lector, after Mass he would wait patiently for her in the back of Church on the Blessed Mother's Altar side. He always had that beautiful angelic smile and he never ever complained. I remember when he asked my name so that he could call me by name. When I would see him he would always say "Hello Helen". I was amazed how he never ever forgot. He was truly our "Angel" of sweet happiness and kindness with the Love of the Lord and Our Blessed Mother so evident in him. Christine was always there for him, so caring and never ever a complaint. She was so grateful to those who would watch out for him and care for him. Many went to his bedside as his illness progressed so that Christine could sometimes come to Mass, and bring the Sacred Host back to him. He was our "Angel" here on early and now is our special "Angel" or special Saint in Heaven! I feel sure Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother welcomed him with open arms to everlasting joy and peace in Heaven! Rest in Peace dear sweet Maurice! May Our Lord and and Blessed Mother give special comfort, consolation, and peace to Christine his beloved faithful, loving, and very caring daughter. We love you too dear Christine, and our heartfelt prayers are with you and your wonderful Dad! - Helen Hudson

Maurice was a very kind gentle man with very deep faith. I sat by him or near him when i was at daily morning Mass. He was very well liked by everyone. Christine was such a wonderful loving daughter, who was always there for him. Maurice is in the arms of the Lord right now. He will be greatly missed. With much love and sympathy, Julie Reed

It was always good visiting with Maurice at St. Anthony's after the daily Masses. Good stories and good memories we would share. He had a sense of humor and we would laugh a lot. I and others will miss him.

Seeing Maurice at daily mass was always a blessing. People took turns greeting him, discreetly, so there wouldn't be a line forming or disruption to those at prayer. He had a wonderful smile and an interest in people. I will miss his presence and seeing him at prayer.

So many of us will miss seeing Maurice in Mass and after when his friends surrounded him. It was a blessing to visit with him. He always had something positive to say. It was a treat to be at his birthday celebrations and have more time to visit. Christine, what a beautiful example you have been caring for your Father.
Prayers for your Father and may the Lord be your strength during this time Christine.

I loved seeing Maurice at daily Mass. He was a true faithful servant of Our Lord. He had a smile for everyone and had a relationship with Our Lord that I strive for. He was an inspiration to me! I remember his smiles as we read scripture and recited prayers in his final days. God rest his soul. AMEN!

I knew Mr Maurice from daily mass. He always had a friendly smile and seemed so grateful to be in God’s presence at church and especially towards his beloved daughter who was so kind to him and managed taking him to church while she carried many duties at church . After caring for him at his house while Christine went to daily mass I realized the special bond of father and daughter. He had a special smile towards Christine as she dutifully performed excellent care to her dad. I enjoyed being there in a very peaceful environment as I usually prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet. He will be very much missed and I pray for his soul and for Christine.
