(2 Timothy 4:6-7)
On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 10:48 am, God dispatched his angels to bring his daughter, Rosalina Anne Roberts home after a valiant battle with breast cancer.
The Lord blessed Rosalina’s parents, Melvyn and Ella Rogers with her birth on May 5, 1979, in Houston, TX. Rosalina attended Hamilton Middle School and Carver Sr, High School.
Rosalina accepted Christ in her life at an early age, and was baptized at Mt. Vernon UMC Houston, in January 1980.
Her Christian life was reflected through her membership at The Lighthouse Church & Ministries (Houston, Texas) under Pastor Keion Henderson. She answered the call of God to be a servant leader and faithfully dedicated her time, her talent, and her treasures on the Prison Team, the Children’s ministry – Kids Discovery Zone (KDZ), Boy Scouts of America, and as a Deaconess.
In 2005 Rosalina met her husband, James Roberts. They were united in holy matrimony on May 16, 2006, in Houston, TX. Rosalina and James nurtured and supported numerous children and adults during their marriage. She was the proud mother to Marli and Phillip.
Rosalina loved and adored children. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need. She never met a stranger and was a kind and sweet soul. She was smart as a whip, knew a little something about everything and she knew how to have a good time. Rosalina was an affectionate wife, loving and caring daughter, courageous sister, doting mother, fearless defender, spirit uplifter, secret keeper, prayer warrior, and the best sister friend we could have ever ask for.
Rosalina diligently worked as a manager at On Our Own Services for 17 years where she coordinated logistics and safety for the company. She also worked at Houston Metro until her death. She loved her job as a Metro Lift Dispatcher and was even working from home while she was battling the horrible disease of breast cancer.
Rosalina is predeceased by her father Melvyn Rogers. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory her loving husband, James Roberts, children Marli Paley and Phillip Richardson; mother, Ella Rogers; sister LaToya Monique Baker (Jerry); brother, Jason Rogers; aunts Oreatha Easley (Kendall), Marilyn Johnlewis, and Gwendolyn Sera (Eldridge); uncle, Johnny Rogers; a very special big brother/cousin, Christopher Wilson; sisters in love Adilah Rashid, Nekebra Stephenson (Mike), and Shantell Coleman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
“The memory of the righteous is blessed.” Proverbs 10:7
God’s Garden
God looked around his garden- And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth- And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you -And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough – And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids – And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.
