She was born and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She graduated with a degree in Accounting and Marketing. She began her career in retail in Laredo, Texas and later chose to relocate to Detroit, Michigan to join her brother Fernando and older sister Maria. She chose to return to Texas and join her sister Maria, in Austin and later moved to Spring, Texas to join her brother and sisters, where she resided until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando Garcia Leos, San Juana Garcia Fuentes, sisters, Consuelo Garcia Rodriguez, Tomacita Garcia and Maria Garcia Hernandez; brothers, Narciso Garcia, Antonio Garcia and Fernando Garcia. She is survived by her sister, Ernestina Garcia Fuentes of Spring, Texas and Juan Jose Garcia of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Along with her siblings, she leaves behind 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and many great nieces, great nephews and many beloved friends.
She loved socializing and shopping. She always liked to be well dressed even if it was just the grocery store. She always had her hair and make-up done and loved her jewelry. Although she was small in stature, she was a little firecracker/chile piquin full of energy! She was always determined & transparent and would call a spade a spade!
Aunt Santos was one that didn't like to travel much, however one time that we remember her nieces Gloria and Stacy convinced her to take a trip to Cancun. Once she got there she loved it and we finally got her into a swimsuit for the first time in her lifetime.
Tia Santos was well organized and loved to take charge! Her younger brother Juan remembered that once he graduated from college, she expressed to him “OK, now you have to find a job” and would take the employment section of the newspaper every day and circled the job postings and showed him that she found a job for him. “Go get dressed and check it out”.
We will all miss her, but we are so blessed to have been able to share in her adventures over the years. We all love you and will forever cherish our time we had with you and look forward to one day joining you in heaven and singing one of your favorite songs, “Mexico Lindo y Querido”.
