She worked many years as a hair stylist and school bus driver until she retired in 2009.Her interest included spending time with family, gardening, buying jewelry and taking cruises.
Shirley is survived by her fiancé Nathan Large, four brothers Glenn Ackley(Doris), Kenneth Ackley (Pricilla), Tommy Pugh (Mary), Charles Ackley (Delores). She has two sisters Ann Houser and Betty Kubena, two daughters Shelia Merryman (Mike), Monica Durbin (Brandon), one son Christopher Eichholz (Christina) and nine grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both grandparents and parents, her daughter Brenda Rigsby, one brother Jessie Ackley and one sister Ruby Ackley.
