

Corris was born on October 3, 1938 in Lisbon Falls, ME. She was the youngest of seven children born to Carl and Nellie Millett.
After graduating high school, she attended the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, MA. She graduated at the top of her class in 1960 and had a long and notable career as an RN, retiring at the age of 71 in 2010. Some of her patients included Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Ted Williams and former President of the United States of America John F. Kennedy.
Corris married her first husband, Reid Andrew Ballard, Sr., on June 16, 1962, in Cambridge, MA. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1974. She and her second husband, Robert C. Hickey, were married on December 19, 1976, in Bensalem, PA. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2012.
Corris is survived by her six children: Victoria Witzer (Barry), Reid Ballard Jr. (Cindy), Daniel Ballard (Lesley), Tamara Madeja (George), Jonathan Ballard (Christina), and Kathleen Haluska (Jeffery). She is also survived by her nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews who live throughout the US.
Corris appreciated living life simply and with purpose. She took great care in being a homemaker and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She was never one to turn down a piece of chocolate and was always up for playing games with family and friends- many memories were made around her kitchen table playing Uno, Skip-Bo, Flinch, and Scrabble. She was an animal lover with a special affinity towards cats; some of her favorite pet cats over the years were Solomon, Sam, Henry, Hercules, Freddy, and Moxie.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Corris's life at her graveside service on Monday July 24, 2023 at 11am at the Forest Hill Cemetery: 101 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
