
Edward M. Walsh died on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health. He was 84 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward M. and Regina Walsh. Edward was a resident of Horsham Township for the past 24 years. He had previously lived in Huntingdon Valley.
Mr. Walsh was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. After graduation he worked in the building trades and with the Philadelphia Gas Works. Using this experience, he opened Walsh’s Hardware store in Lawndale and operated the store until 1991. As a young man, he developed a love for the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed surf fishing and canoeing. He enjoyed model railroading and used his eye for detail and his carpentry experience, to make beautifully detailed model buildings. Once retired, he very much enjoyed traveling to Florida in his RV with his wife, Cathy.
Edward was the beloved husband of Catherine J. Stolz McCurdy Walsh for the past 24 years and of Nancy Cronin Walsh for 27 years before her death in 1984. He was the devoted father of Maureen Climaldi (William) of Warminster, Barbara Jackson (Douglas) of Leesburg VA, Alan Walsh (Marjorie) of Lancaster and Christopher Walsh (Theresa) of Warminster and the stepfather of Lisa Buseman (Raymond) of Horsham Township. He was the loving grandfather of Laura Nunn, Melissa Jackson, Eleanor Walsh; step grandfather of Bruce Brown, Christopher and Jaime Buseman. He was the brother of the late Jean Snow.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 9 to 10 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
