Elizabeth J Lees

Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Lees died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 during hospice at the home of her niece, Patricia. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Adele Mae Ecker Lees. She was a sister to the late Adele, Grace, Fred, William and Russell Lees. Betty had been a resident of Pennsburg for the past 10 years, and had previously lived in Philadelphia and Red Hill, PA as well as in Petaluma, CA.

Ms. Lees was a graduate of William Penn High School, Class of 1939 in Philadelphia. She was a retired underwriter with the Royal Globe Insurance Company in Philadelphia. Betty was also the Past President of The Woman’s Insurance Society of America.

After retiring from Royal Globe, Betty was the Secretary of the Borough of Red Hill. She was a member of the Pennsburg United Church of Christ.

Betty is survived by her niece Patricia Banner of Pennsburg; her great nieces and nephews Bethany (and Adam) Banner-Adelman of Pennsburg, Laura Banner of East Greenville, and Christopher Banner of Allentown; great-great nieces Jae, Jaclyn, Jesse and Alexa, as well as great-great nephew Tyler.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service and interment at 2 PM on Monday, December 1st at the Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, P A19006.

Following the service the family invites those attending to share fellowship at Ben and Irv’s Delicatessen & Restaurant, 1962 County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
