Mr. Filmore Mizee Saye

Filmore Saye, a beloved son and father was born on December 22, 1977 in Monrovia Liberia to the union of Mr. Arthur N. Saye and Mrs. Kau Gbeandeh. His nickname at home was Darling Boy – a name that would accompany him everywhere he went. He was dearly loved by many – his siblings, his friends, co-workers, etc. He grew up in Monrovia, with his parents and siblings where he began his primary education at the Calvary Baptist Church School in Sinkor, Airfield. Due to civil unrest in various parts of the country, he moved to Ganta, Nimba County with his mother and siblings where he completed his Junior High School education and later completing his high school education in exile at the Protestant Methodist Resource Center (PMRC). Filmore was intelligent, studious and bright.

He immigrated to the United States of America in the early 2000s where he went on to earn his Nursing Degree and worked as a Registered Nurse before his passing. Filmore enjoyed working as a nurse; he took pride in his profession and was very dedicated. He took care of his patients with love and with a smile.

Filmore was a social butterfly. He was often the life of the party – he loved people and it was always important to him that others felt like they belong. He was never a stranger no matter how new his environment was. He was a lover of life and enjoyed the finest things of life. He took pride in his appearance and always looked his best. He was kind, giving, forgiving, friendly and good-hearted. Filmore was a great supporter and a cheer leader - he celebrated everyone in their success.

Filmore was an active member of the New Grace Arlington church in Arlington, Texas. He was part of the men’s ministry & the brotherhood disciples’ connection at his church. He was also a member of the drama ministry and was part of the casting for the 2019 Christmas cantata. He had a quiet, yet firm relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

On November 5, Filmore was found unconscious at work. He took a break for some fresh air and was found unresponsive by a staff who tried to revive him. He was taken to the hospital where doctors were unable to resuscitate him. His sudden death has been one of shock and disbelief.

He is survived by his two daughters, Felice Saye and Odell Saye, a fiancé, Catherine Morris, his father Arthur N. Saye, Mother, Kau Gbeandeh – Siblings - Boniface Saye, Eunice Saye, Matu Saye, Patience Saye Bryemah, Jackson Saye, and Nina Saye. He leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as several cousins.

Our brother will be laid to rest at the Forest Hills Cemetery/Dignity Memorial in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. We are all grateful for the time we were blessed to know him here on earth. May we all remember his great and loving spirit and do our best to uphold his legacy. Filmore will be deeply, deeply missed, may he rest in perfect and perpetual peace with the father.
