Helen M Bush

She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Smith) Shusted. She grew up in Laurel Springs, NJ and later lived in Mt. Ephraim, NJ for 32 years before retiring to Largo, FL in 1980. Helen returned to the Philadelphia area in 2006 and had been a resident at Spring House Estates and Brittany Point Estates for the past six years.

In Florida, she lived at Paradise Park for 24 years where she enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and participating in the many activities, clubs and social events, especially the Red Hat Ladies. She also enjoyed many trips to Disneyworld with her family where her favorite ride was the “Runaway Train”.

Helen always had a warm smile for everyone and maintained her uncanny sense of humor and wit until the end.

Helen was the beloved wife Johnson L. Bush, Jr. for 59 years, before his death in 2002. She was the devoted mother of John M. (Emelia) Bush Sr. of Fort Washington, PA and Steve (Kathy) Bush of Palm Springs, CA. She was the loving grandmother of Kelly Bush Fowler, Nicole Bush Raven, John M. Bush Jr., Jennifer Ronan Lucas, Edward S. Bush, Danielle Bush, Jessica Bush; great grandmother Gavin Zander, Brett Fowler, Kevin Lucas, John Bush III, Elizabeth Fowler, Ava Zander, Sean Lucas, Amanda Fowler, Keira Bush, Colin Bush. She is also survived by a sister, Catherine Arnesen of Havertown, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 25, at 11AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446-5414. Luncheon to follow at 12:30PM at William Penn Inn, Route 202 & Sumneytown Pike, Gwynedd, PA 19436. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s name to Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Ft. Washington, PA 19034.
