Janet S. Guyger

Janet was born on August 12, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, Russell and Jennie (Bell) Shute. She graduated from Olney High School in 1947. Janet went on to establish a career as a Teacher’s Aide, working for Churchville Elementary School in the Council Rock School District, for over 28 years. Upon retiring, she volunteered at Churchville Elementary in assisting with the learning disabled.

Janet loved to travel and be outdoors, but her favorite was spending summers in Maine with her late husband, Ben. She enjoyed fishing, reading, hitting the slots, playing games and puzzles. With her quick-witted personality, she had many stories to tell and famous one-liners. She actively participated in her church’s Lunch Bunch, Masonic Square Club luncheons, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a social butterfly; sparking up a conversation with just about anyone and always enjoying the company of family and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by late husbands, Benjamin Guyger, Ralph Wasserleben and Galen Fulmer; late son, Steven Wasserleben (survived by Bernadene); late brother, Raymond Shute (survived by Thelma); and parents, Russell and Jennie Shute.

Janet is survived by daughters, Karen Palmeiro (Peter), Andrea Gass (Thomas), Alyson Nelson (David); step-sons, Gary Wasserleben (Michelle), David Guyger (Marge), Benjamin Guyger (Fulvia) and Stephen Guyger; grandchildren, Terry Wasserleben (April), Jason Palmeiro, Troy Wasserleben (Adrienne), David Nelson Jr. (Beverly), Taylor Staudt (Patrick), Blaze Wasserleben (Cristina), Megan Palmeiro, Jaclyn Dowiak (Jacob), Morgan Hueber (Joseph), Madison Gass; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janet's Memorial Visitation, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 65 E, Street Road, Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053. Followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00AM and the inurnment at Forest Hills Cemetery at 12:15PM.
