Our beloved Nana and Mom, Janet A. Haney, was called home to God with her family by her side on May 11, 2023, at the age of 66, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Rockledge, PA to Robert and Margaret (nee McCausland) Peppelman, she was the youngest of four siblings. Janet was born into a large and close-knit extended family full of many cousins, Aunts, and Uncles that remained a constant fixture throughout her life.
Janet proudly devoted her life to a career in healthcare, creating lifelong friendships along the way, beginning at Abington Pediatrics and ending her career as a nursing administrator with Abington Memorial Hospital. Janet’s family and friends knew her most treasured memories were those spent at the beach. From a week spent with her children in Ocean City N.J, to day trips to Belmar N.J. with her grandchildren, Janet was happiest at the edge of the water in her beach chair with her toes in the sand.
Janet is survived by her four children: Casey Haney (Kaitlyn), Emily Montoya, Matthew Haney (Katie), and Erin Williamson (Adam.) She will forever be missed by her nine grandchildren: Sophia, Jack, and Sam Montoya; Isaiah, Kylie, Madison, and Alaina Haney; and Ella and Henry Haney. In addition, her loving siblings Margaret Otero (Phil) Roberta Yates (Skip) Alan Peppelman (Leslie) sister-in-law Patricia Haney, and many nieces and nephews.
Although Janet is no longer with us, she will always be remembered as a loving mother, nana, sister, and friend - devoted to the happiness of those around her.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, May 25th at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley PA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Janet’s name to Waves of Grace, a nonprofit organization providing beach vacations to families afflicted by terminal cancer.
