Mr. John Kurian was born into the Pullippadavil family, Niranam Thiruvalla, Kerala to Mr. P.V Kurian and Chinnamma Kurian. He was the second of their 6 children – Kurian Varkey (late), Eapen Kurian, Elizabeth Mathew, Oommen Kurian (late), and Mary Chandy (late).
After his studies in Kerala in 1970, he began his career with the Indian Navy as a ship radio operator. In 1978 at the age of 28, while he was an orthodox believer, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in water. In 1983, he joined the Andaman police department as a wireless radio operator.
In 1983, he married Anie from the Palamattam family, Mepral. In 1986, he joined the shipping corporation of India job in Andaman as the signal superintendent at Port Blair. That year, God blessed them with their first child, Susan.
John Kurian immigrated to the United States in 1992 along with his wife Anie and his daughter Susan. They welcomed their second child, Stephen, into the family in 1994. He continued his career at Cardone Industries, Philadelphia until he retired in 2007. Along with his work, he pursued his studies and finished BTh as well as MTh at the Jamison School of Theology, Malayalam Extension campus.
He was called to eternity on February 21st at 4:07 PM to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife Anie, son Stephen, daughter Susan, her husband Samson, and their children Sharon and Staison. He was a strong believer and always tried to glorify the name of his Savior through his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather as well as a dear friend to everyone who knew him. We will certainly miss his kind and loving nature, but rejoice that he is free from pain and in the loving arms of his Savior, whom he adored.
