Lenolle Harrell

Lenolle “Lee” Audrey Harrell, age 80, passed away on July 11th, 2023 at 1:30pm at Sunrise of Abington. She was a long-time resident of Abington and Willow Grove, PA. Lee was born on January 15, 1943, to Rovena Louise (Bingham) Scott and Walter Scott, Jr. After graduating from Simon Gratz High School in 1961, she achieved a Bachelor's degree in Education from Cheney University and later a Master's in Education from Marywood College.

Lee pursued a career as an educator in Mathematics for the School District of Philadelphia, beginning her career at Wagner and Roosevelt Junior High before moving on to Central and finally Northeast High. Towards the end of her teaching career, Lee obtained a Master’s in Divinity and became an ordained minister serving both the First Baptist Church of Crestmont and the Second Baptist Church of Doylestown.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents as well as her younger sister, Rovena Grant and her younger brother, Generia “Scottie/Bubble” Scott. Lee is survived by her son, Tony Harrell, her nieces: Allura Frasier, Char’ell Grant, Tiffanee Scott, Rovena Scott, Chanell Scott, many other extended family members and beloved family of the heart among her fellow educators, former students and friends.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, July 14th at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntington Valley, PA 19006, followed by interment. A memorial may be planned for a future date. Financial or genetic contributions may be made to the American Red Cross in memory of Lee’s creation of the Red Cross Club at Northeast High School, where she engaged students in the important process of saving lives.
