Murray Schneps, of Doylestown, PA and previously Deerfield Beach, FL and Maspeth, Queens, NY, passed away on October 7th, 2023. Murray just celebrated his 96th birthday on October 1st. Murray lived at Wesley Enhanced Living in Doylestown, PA since 2012.
Murray's love of his of life and bride of almost 63 years, Terry Schneps, preceded Murray in life with her passing in November of 2013. Murray loved Terry from the moment he saw her, marrying her in 1950 starting their life's journey; one filled with its share of joy, happiness, and a few challenges along the way. Murray was Terry's constant, steady and loving hand as they navigated their marriage. Murray was there to support Terry later in life as she became sicker and was there for her right up to the end.
Murray, a selfless, dedicated man whose hard work as a young boy delivering bread and rolls via horse and wagon in New York City, a skilled upholstery operator making fine furniture and a towerman for the New York City Transit Authority never missed a day of work and always managed to provide for his family. Sacrifice was built into his character as he was a warm, engaging, witty, charming and fun human whose infectious personality brought the best out in all. Murray was always a favorite of friends, family and the staff at Wesley and ultimately the Hospice staff who adored a man who never complained, always complimented and would leave anyone that met him feeling good about themselves and better about the world.
Murray is survived by his son, Steven and his wife Tamara of Doylestown, PA. Murray had his three grandsons always close by whether in person or on video calls. Alex Schneps and his fiancee, Alana Godner-Abravanel of Berkeley California, Dr. Connor Schneps of Boston, MA and Adam Harris and his fiancee, Alie Yoblonsky of Long Beach, LI. Murray had many friends at Wesley Enhanced Living and many others throughout his life, all of whom he cherished.
With Murray's passing, he didn't want anyone to 'cry' for him. He lived a long, good life allowing his remarkable life's story of courage, survivale, hard work and selflessness to be an example to any and all. His passing is more than a celebration. His life is what we all aspire to be, "a great guy" whose mark on this world will always be felt by those who knew and loved him.
