

Rosetta Jackson was born on June 20th, 1948 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late McCoy and Mary Thomas. She graduated from Bethune Memorial High School in South Carolina. Rosetta traveled to Philadelphia where she met her late husband, Irving Jackson, Sr. From this union, she was blessed with two children. Rosetta worked as a seamstress for many years. She loved doing her job and working with other people.
Rosetta was a great family-oriented person. She loved to cook big meals and always opened her home to everyone. Her specialties were her famous caramel cake, sweet potato pies and macaroni and cheese. She would always bake at least two caramel cakes and at least ten sweet potato pies, so everyone felt special. Rosetta loved to travel and listen to her "oldies". She was a loving and caring person. She would always tell it like it is. What was special in Rosetta's heart was her family. Rosetta deeply loved her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.
Rosetta was predeceased by her brothers, McCoy Thomas and Michael Thomas. She leaves to mourn: her daughter, Kenyatta Oates (Leon Oates), her son, Irving Jackson and daughter, Pamela Mays (Shawn Mays), one brother, Rommie Thomas (Rena Taylor), four sisters: Vernell Stewart (late Author Steward), Mattie Funchess (Mack Funchess, Mary Freeman (late Johnnie Freeman) and Roberta Thomas, her grandchildren, Kenae Oates and Aniya Mays and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
