Sosamma studied at Kadapra Government High School and later continued further studies in Nursing and completed her degree from Gandhi Medical College. After completion, she worked at Ladies Hospital in Bhopal, India. Soon after, she married Thomas Varghese on May 1, 1975.
In 1976, she migrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia. Her husband soon followed her and they both started a family and were blessed with two children, Bency and Betsy. Upon settling in Philadelphia, she worked for various hospitals but spent the majority of her career at Temple University Hospital until her retirement.
Sosamma served the Lord as an active and involved member of the Mar Thoma Church, Philadelphia. Her life was dedicated to the Lord and she held her church family very closely to her heart. She participated in Sevika Sanghom, and various organizations and conferences. She was a loving wife, aunt, and mother who devoted her life to raising her children to know and have a relationship with God. Throughout her life she embodied the love of Christ, which was evident in her relationships with her family and friends. Even during her long battle with cancer, she maintained her strong faith in the Lord and knew her Savior was with her every step of the way.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Varghese, son Bency and his wife Liz, and her daughter Betsy. She also leaves behind her sisters Aleykutty Thomas, Pennamma Thomas, Kunjoonjamma Raju, and Mollykutty Jose and also
