i have fond memories of walt and i walking to west oreland school together every day, since i am an only child, i always loved going to his lively household with all his siblings, he was a dear man.  my thoughts are with dallas and the rest of his family, jane ford freas, sun city arizona

Walt and Dallas, my wonderful neighbors since January 16, 1978! We had so many good times  together! Peter, my husband, came into the picture in 1987. Since then, we have shared so much! Dallas,both Peter and I want to let you and your family know that it is with a very heavy heart we both left for Europe this week. We really wanted to be with you to say goodbye to one wonderful neighbor! Thinking about the whole family. Josie and Peter

Walt was a proud and generous man. One couldn't ask for a better brother... and friend.  I loved him, and will always remember his smile.
He was a fine example of fatherhood, as exhibited by the wonderful children he and his devoted wife Dallas raised.

Missing from this obit is the fact that Walt was one of the finest scoutmasters that ever lived, and was a truly inspirational leader to countless young men. Those of us lucky enough to be in his troop have wonderful memories of our time together and all of the great trips Walt brought us on. We will miss him dearly.
