

William D. Wagenmann, Sr. of Oakford, died on Monday March 8, 2010, at his residence. He was 85 years old. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William Henry and Gertrude Frankenfield Wagenmann. He was an Oakford resident for the past 55 years.
Mr. Wagenmann retired employee of Progressive Metal in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Feasterville and was active with the Lunch Bunch and the Men’s Breakfast Club. William was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
William was an Army veteran of the WW II, serving with the 283rd field Artillery Battalion in the European Theater. He was POW from October of 1944 until April of 1945, and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct European African Middle Eastern Campaign and World War II Victory Medals. The Netherlands Armed Forces also awarded him a medal.
William was the beloved husband of Emma L. Carpenter Wagenmann for 68 years. He was the devoted father of William D. (Kathryn) Wagenmann of Downingtown, James C. (Dale) Wagenmann of Rockville, MD, Ronald G. (Suzanne) Wagenmann of King of Prussia, Alan (Nancy) Wagenmann of Feasterville, and Christina LaBelle of Oakford. He is also survived by a brother George Wagenmann of Warminster, a sister Grace Weber of Oxford, PA, 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his service 11 AM on Thursday March 11, 2010 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 65 E. Street Road, Feasterville. PA 19053. Friends may call from 9 AM until time of the service. The interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
