

Betty J. Williams, 92 of Huntington passed away at 4:15 am on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at The Heritage of Huntington. Betty was a 1940 graduate of Lagro High School and she had attended Manchester College. She was a member of the College Park United Brethren Church where she had served as secretary and was active in the Women’s Missionary Society. She had worked as a teller at the First National Bank. She also served as a bookkeeper for the Huntington County Community Schools and had worked as a secretary for Huntington North High School, Lincoln Elementary School, and Huntington University where she retired. She was a member of the Huntington College Auxiliary and was a Huntington Memorial Hospital Guild volunteer.
Betty was born on February 14, 1922 in Wabash County, a daughter of Floyd Charles and Irene Reba (Fisher) Grossman.
She was united in marriage to Donald R. Williams on July 1, 1956 in Wabash County. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters: Trudy (Jeff) Bowditch of Fort Myers, FL; Ruth (Ted) Batson of Zionsville; a sister: Reva Anderson of Winona Lake; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Beulah King and a brother: Bill Grossman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 3:00 – 7:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:30am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Ray Seilhamer officiating.
Interment will be at the St. Peter’s First Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made out to College Park United Brethren Church or to Huntington University both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
