Carolyn Marie Everhart, 86 of Huntington, passed away Saturday morning, December 6, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home. Carolyn grew up on a farm with her loving parents and sister. In her younger years she was active in school, enjoying sports, music and was a ten year member of 4H. She was a 1956 graduate of Huntington high school and later attended IPFW for courses in Floral Design and Management. Carolyn worked several jobs over the years, at First National Bank, she then worked in floral design for 30 years in Huntington and Castle Rock, Colorado, and as a funeral assistant. Carolyn owned and managed Town and Country Flowers and Gifts for 18 years and most recently in her "retirement" years she worked at Myers Funeral Homes for nearly 15 years helping families in their times of need. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington where she enjoyed serving in the Women's and Children's ministries. She also held a weekly Altrusa Bible study in her home for many years. Carolyn loved to volunteer, she was a past member of the Andrews Library Board, a charter member of the Nite-N-Gals Home extension club, a former leader for the Huntington County 4H, enjoying watching her children and great grandchildren participate. She was an associate of the PSI OTE and a member of the PSI IOTA Sorority. She volunteered at the Parkview Huntington Hospital and Heritage Pointe of Huntington and had served on the Huntington County Red Cross board. In what little spare time she had Carolyn enjoyed floral gardening, floral design, as well as reading, music and sewing for missions.
Carolyn born on December 20, 1938 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Joseph and June (Baker) Krider.
She was united in marriage to Donald J. Everhart on December 20, 1997 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2015.
Survivors include two daughters: Carlene (Jay) Peters of Huntington and Cathalene (Scott) Smith of Fort Wayne; two sons: Chris (Brett) Stephan of Huntington and Chad (Erica) Stephan of Warren; a step daughter: Rhonda (Jim) Etherington and a stepson: Brett (Ann Marie) Everhart; a sister: Margie (Dave) Stinson of Huntington; eight grandchildren: Kelsey (Chris) McCafferty, Tannan (Arielle) Peters, Quinton Smith, Hannah Peters, Lauren (Walker) Spahr, Kaitlyn (Garrett) Heaston, Ethan Stephan and Dalton Stephan; two step grandchildren: Tyler (Megan) Etherington and Carly (Bobby) Ryan; ten great grandchildren: Lena, Marcus, Maci, Madison, Hadley, Julia, Meagan, Luey, Parker and Reese.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Rd., Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the church, there will be on hour of visitation prior to the services.
Interment will take place at the Star of Hope Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
