

Clara Mabel Hacker, 97 of Huntington passed away at 3:15 pm on Monday, June 2, 2014 at her residence. Clara was a homemaker. She supported missions for the Brethren Church for many years. She loved embroidery, quilting, crocheting, baking and gardening.
Clara was born on December 6, 1916 in Muncie, Indiana, a daughter of Edward and Laura (Decker) Bair.
She was united in marriage to Wallace G. Hacker on November 23, 1935 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.
Survivors include five sons: Garl “Ed” (Sue) Hacker of Huntington; Paul (Karen) Hacker of Syracuse; Gus (Lynn) Hacker of Huntington; Daniel (Joni) Hacker of Roanoke; David (Carol) Hacker of Huntington; three daughters: Rebecca (James) Splawn of Huntington; Mary Ellen Beemer of Huntington; Martha (Steve) Grigsby of Huntington; a brother: Edwin (Mary) Bair of Huntington; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Ruth Ann Hacker; two sisters: Viola Whitenack, Emma Hillegas and two brothers: Harry Bair and Irvin Bair.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Gus Hacker officiating.
Interment will take place at the Lancaster Cemetery.
