David Niswander

David Niswander, 54 of Huntington passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence. David was a 1976 graduate of Huntington North High School. He was co-owner and operator of H. H. Niswander Auto Dealership in Huntington where he had worked for his whole life. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; he was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Lodge # 1014 in Huntington. He loved to hunt, fish and camping and spending time with his family.

David was born on May 21, 1957 in Huntington, a son of Herman Harold and Rhoda Ann (Garber) Niswander.

He was united in marriage to Cynthia A. Young on August 7, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons: Wesley D. Niswander and Harrison D. Niswander both of Huntington; three daughters: Katelyn A. Niswander; Macy A. Niswander; Isabel A. Niswander all of Huntington; five sisters: Natalie Niswander of Fort Wayne; Melissa Sytsma of Culver, IN; Letitia Snyderman of Fishers, IN; Katinka Dixon of Fort Wayne; Gretchen Nichols of Granger, IN; two brothers: Samuel Niswander of Huntington; and Matthew Niswander of Milwaukee, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents Duke and Rhoda Niswander and a sister: Deirdre Niswander.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 1:45 p.m. prior to the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with half an hour of visitation prior to the service at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, with Father John Pfister officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made out to Niswander Children College Fund in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
