Dean R. Beaver, 89 of Huntington, passed away early Friday morning April 2, 2021 at the Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Dean was a lifetime farmer, living on the Beaver Family Farm in Union Township which is now into its 5th generation of ownership in the family. He also worked at H.K. Porter for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. Dean was a 1950 graduate of Union Twp. High School and served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. Dean was a member of the Union Church and was caretaker of the Union Cemetery for over 40 years. Dean made maple syrup for many years at the family camp, Beaver’s Pure Maple Sugar, continuing the multi-generation tradition. He was heavily involved in the Huntington County 4H with his children and grandchildren. Dean bowled for the First National Bank team at Rainbow Lanes in the Wednesday night late league for many years. He was an avid New York Yankees, Purdue Boilermakers and Huntington North Vikings fan. But most of all Dean loved his family, talking about them non-stop to anyone that would listen. Dean was born on January 7, 1932 in Huntington a son of Charles and Cholista Frech Beaver. He was united in marriage to Naomi E. Bohr on May 11, 1952 at the Central Christian Church in Huntington. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2004. Survivors include two sons: Rich (Kathy) Beaver of Markle and Doug (Kay) Beaver of Huntington; two daughters: Nadean (Mark) Brown and Cindy (Dan) Blocker both of Huntington; a sister: Virginia (Bevan) Best of Markle and a brother: Dale Beaver of Chula Vista, CA. Eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Duane Beaver and Kevin Beaver and a sister: June Ann Fox.
