Eileen J. Abbott, 91 of Huntington passed away at 3:25 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Eileen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Jaycee Wives, Modern Mother’s Home Economics Club and Forever Friends. She worked with her husband for Bankers Advertising for several years, she volunteered at Parkview Huntington Hospital and at one time was a Girl Scout leader. Eileen was born on October 21, 1927 in Jonesboro, Indiana, the daughter of Ned and A. Lavon (Hughes) Miller. She was united in marriage to William Abbott on June 1, 1947 in Markle. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2010. Survivors include three daughters: Beverly (Don) DeWald of Macy, IN; Colleen (Alan) Pflieger of Huntington; Dawn (Richard) Miller of Huntington; a sister: Mary Jane Manuwal of Plymouth, IN; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson: Douglas Alan Pflieger. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The Heritage of Huntington, 1180 W. 500 N., Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 7, 2019 with one hour of visitation prior to the service with Pastor Bill Rapp officiating at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to The Heritage of Huntington Activity Department or to Trinity United Methodist Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
