Janet S. (Markley) Finton, 82, of Huntington went to be with her Lord at 10:34 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Janet had attended South Side High School in 1961. She retired from IMCO in Huntington on March 31, 2008 after 34 years of service. She was a member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. Janet loved to volunteer at the church food pantry, the meal ministry and the Bible Trailers.
Janet was born on March 13, 1943 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Roscoe David and Nellie (Copeland) Markley.
She was united in marriage to David A. Finton on December 10, 1966 in Huntington. David preceded her in death on March 7, 2010.
Survivors include four daughters: Patty Allen of Huntington, Robyn Osborne of Huntington, Shelly (Ken) Griffin of Monroe, MI, Tabitha (Rick) Hall of Huntington; two sons: Chris Finton of Huntington, Brian (Nicole) Finton of Huntington; one sister: Norma Divelbiss of Fort Wayne; one brother: Clyde (Pat) Markley of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law: Barb Markley of Tipp City, OH; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson: Caden Lee Finton; two brothers: Gerald Markley, Danny Markley and a step brother: Garl Miles.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the services at the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, Indiana.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
