Jessie M. Smart

Jessie M. Smart, 87 of Huntington passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Tipton Place in Huntington. Jessie was a member of Clear Creek Church and the Clear Creek Happy Homemaker’s Club. She was a supervisor at Huntington Electric for 14 years and had worked at Northside Cleaners for 7 years. She was a volunteer at Parkview Huntington Hospital for several years. Jessie was born on April 26, 1933 in Noland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Everett and Grace (Farthing) Warford. She was united in marriage to Larry Keyser on December 22, 1950 in Huntington. Larry preceded her in death on August 30, 2002. She later married B. Allen Smart on May 6, 2006 in Huntington. Allen preceded her in death on December 9, 2020. Additional survivors include two sons: Gary (Sally) Keyser of Huntington, Roger Keyser of Huntington; a daughter: Susan Dinkel of Iron River, WI; two stepsons: Ronald (Jackie) Smart, Lawrence (Kari) Smart both of Huntington; three stepdaughters: Karen (Shane) Bickel, Susan (Jeff) Funk, Polly Smart all of Huntington; two brothers: Carl Warford of New Haven, Bev Warford of Wabash; 16 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons: Johnny Keyser, Mark Keyser, DeWayne Keyser; a brother: Doug Warford; three sisters: Mildred Boyer, Minnie Buzzard, Ann Oyler; a granddaughter; a grandson and a great grandson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with funeral service to follow visitation at 12:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits. The service will be live streamed on the Myers Funeral Home Facebook page for those who cannot attend. Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to Heartland Hospice or Cancer Services of Huntington County both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
