Lois Jean Smith

Lois J. Smith, 82 of Huntington, passed away Friday morning April 10, 2026 at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation. She had worked at Abbtite Enterprise in Middlebury for over twenty years and most recently worked at the McDonald's in Warren for over 10 years. Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flowers and tending to her flowers beds, crafting and fishing.

Lois was born on August 23, 1943 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Elwood D. and Miriam M. (Stetzel) Schoenauer.

She was married to Walter Smith, he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a grandson: Jerry S. Schoenauer of Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter: Vanessa J. Schoenauer of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters: Janice Young of Andrews, IN and Dawn Snyder-Nelson of Tennessee; four brothers: John Schoenauer of Ohio, Jack Schoenauer of Florida, Jimmie Schoenauer of Virginia and Jerry Schoenauer of Goshen, IN; a daughter in law; Manuela Schoenauer of Michigan and three step-children: Gloria Smith-Holzinger and Vickie Smith-Shaffer both of Huntington and Walter Smith Jr. of Warren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Marvin Schoenauer and three brothers: Roy Snyder Jr., John Snyder and Roger Snyder.

There will be no public visitation or services.
