Alvan Tufts Fuller

1 February, 1927 – 28 October, 2023
IN THE CARE OF

Doane Beal & Ames

Alvan T. Fuller, 96, of Yarmouthport, MA passed away on October 28, 2023. Born in Boston, MA Alvan was the son of the late Henry and Olive (Critchett) Fuller, brother, Henry and sister, Jean. Al was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Murnane) Fuller. Al and Joan had been married 64 years before her passing in 2013.

Al leaves a daughter, Judith and her husband, John Rogozenski of Exeter, NH and son, Steven and wife, Donna of Mashpee, MA. He will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren, Alex, Alison, Dana, Matthew, and Kristen and eight great-grandchildren.

After high school, Al joined the US Navy during WWII and served as an Aviation Radio Operator for his tenure in the service. He was stationed at Ft. Lauderdale Naval Air Station. In early December 1945, Al was on a routine training mission out over the Bahama Islands. That same afternoon, on a similar training mission, 5 Navy planes disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle. Al was part of the search team looking for the lost planes. Flight 19 was never recovered.

Al’s entire career was in the printing business and he retired as Vice President of Sales covering the greater Boston market. He and Joan enjoyed golf as members of Walpole Country Club and Cummaquid Golf Club. His talent was endless…he could build anything and designed several residential homes for himself and family. As a young man he loved and played hockey and baseball and followed his beloved Red Sox. Heatherwood at Kings Way was home for 8 years. He continued his creativity there in the workshop and loved his Trivia gatherings with all his friends.

A private burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Joan.
