Anthony S. Amaral

He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Anthony (Tony) was born in Newport, RI on December 17, 1940. He was the son of Anthony Amaral (deceased) and Nancy (Raffa) Amaral (100 years old). He was the brother to Nancy Rankin (deceased) of Florida. Tony is survived by 5 children: Diahann and husband Scott Cordeiro (Barnstable), David Amaral and wife Sonia (Seekonk), Linda Hayes and husband Michael (Jacksonville, FL), Susie Corso and husband Frank (Flagler Beach, FL), and Karen Terrano and husband Mike (St. Johns, FL). He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Jac, Chris and Dean Cordeiro; Bradley and Collin Amaral; Christian and Megan Hayes; Nicholas and Samantha Terrano, Kyle Brown; Kaley LaRoche and Jacob Bliven He is also survived by his 5 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his nieces: Christina Young and husband Scott (Wellington, FL); Carrie Cohen and husband Paul (Lake Worth, FL) Nancy Heyer and husband Chris (Cape Coral, FL). Also, many great nieces and nephews.

Tony graduated from De La Salle Academy in Newport, RI. He then went on to become a successful painter and interior decorator for most of his life. He loved to fish and spend time on the water in his boat, “Tallulah.” His passions were drawing, painting and cooking. He was quite the artist and put many beautiful sketches and paintings onto canvas. His leisure activities were skiing, playing tennis, cooking and gardening. Tony will be missed by his family and friends. In lieu of services, there will be a celebration of life over the summer where Tony’s ashes will be spread over Narragansett Bay with close friends and family.
