We simply loved Beverly! She will always have a huge spot in our hearts!
I remember when I met her many years back as I was driving down South Street in a black BMW - late for the ferry and furiously looking for a place to park! She told me she loved my car but I should slow my driving down! She liked nice cars in her lot! So, she let me park!! And we became fast friends - we loved her witty, pithy, charming personality! We parked there for many years - and over the years - our kids started to park there too! She knew them all & we all were so fond of her! She went out of her way to call to save spaces for us all during all the busy holidays! If we were late she would meet us at the ferry and pick up our car and park it! Nothing that she wouldn't do for you! A gem!
Often long catch up chats on the phone - in between seasons. She loved a good conversation. She was one of the very very good ones.

There will never be a time that we go to the ferry on our way to Nantucket and not remember remarkable, Bev! ♥️

My family rented the small cottage the Skendes owned in Hyannis from when I was a small boy until I was in high school. Beverly and her mother became family friends. Beverly would sit with my parents under a tree by the cottage, after dinner and have drinks and talked with them… she would sit with us on Kalmus Beach. I remember her blue Thunderbird convertible.

We knew Beverly for 15 years-as our "go to" person for parking in Hyannis -a stop on our way to Nantucket. Once when she could not accommodate us, she went out her way to make sure that her neighbor did so! She was always full of life, fun loving and smart. Interactions with her were consistently pleasant and informative of her personal life and of those around her. Doing business with her was an experience to be savored-we will miss her!

I began 5th grade in 1985 as a smart and quirky kid. Bev along with Esther gave me the tools, support and encouragement to grow and learn and feel proud in my own skin. And then for decades afterwards I watched the wonderful influence and friendship Bev gave to my mother. I will always remember your humor and your love and your direct and honest demeanor. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher and friend to my family. We will miss you.

Bev not only taught 3 of my children but took the time to help me become a better mother. We will miss her.
