Carole Lee MacDonald, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2022, after a 30 year courageous and inspirational battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was the beloved wife of Al “Peter” MacDonald, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Earlton and Alice Baker. Carole was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, and then went on to work as a secretary for Edgar P. Lewis & Sons, Inc. in Malden and alongside her mother in an antique shop before starting her family and then being able to enjoy raising her children. She was a loving, beautiful, thoughtful, kind, and compassionate woman and mother. She had a passion for interior design and was an accomplished seamstress, creating numerous items for her home and costumes for her grandchildren. Carole was also very fond of the beach, enjoying many days on Cape Cod beaches and winters in Naples, FL. Carole is survived by and will deeply missed by her husband, Al “Peter” MacDonald, her daughter, Suzanne Hill and her husband Gerard Hill Jr., her son, Jonathan “Josh” MacDonald and his wife Becky, and her six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kristina, and Nate Hill and Shannon, Hannah, and Jonathan Jr MacDonald. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Baker. The MacDonald family would like to thank Dr. Mark Colins and his staff, Loving Hands Home Care, and The Pavilion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for all of their loving and compassionate care to Carole. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 28th, from 11 am to 1 pm at Doane, Beal, and Ames Funeral Home, 160 W Main St, Hyannis.
