

Stoughton, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
Born on December 20, 1923 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of
the late William and Reva (Epstein) Kantrowitz. In 1941, she graduated
from Durfee High School in Fall River.
After high school, Edith became a secretary at the Newport Naval Base.
She later took on the role of the family matriarch, staying at home to
raise her two boys. Being a fashion conscious woman, Edith took a job
managing the cosmetic counter at the Dartmouth Mall. Her career was
cut short in 1980 after her son, Mark was involved in a tragic
automobile accident which left him hospitalized for the rest of his
life. For 20 years, Edith would visit her son every day at New
England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton.
Edith enjoyed shopping, watching television and was known for her
great sense of humor. More than anything, she cherished the time that
she shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Mark Brodsky.
She is survived by her son, Drew Brodsky and his wife, June of
Osterville; her granddaughter, Abigail Brodsky of Brighton; as well as
her two step grandchildren, Jennifer Rasmussen of Cambridge and Eric
Rasmussen and his wife, Emma of Quincy.
Burial took place in Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
Shivah will begin at 7 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the family
residence at 24 Sea Robin Road in Osterville.
