
Cook, Edward Lewis, Sr., 74, of Marstons Mills, died at Eagle Pond Nursing Home in Dennis on March 18, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Edward was born and raised in Provincetown, and except for his time serving in the military, spent his entire life on the Cape. He served in the Army MP Corp and Vietnam. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and doing crossword puzzles.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Mary Alice and Edward Cook of Provincetown, and a sister Rosemary also of Provincetown. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruth Cook, a brother, James Cook of Mayo, FL and his children: Laurie DeSouza of Provincetown, Audrey Barter of Lakeworth, FL, Edward Cook, Jr. of Essex, CT, James M. Cook of Nantucket, and step-children: Marion Klaussner of West Yarmouth, Ronald Linnell of Barnstable, Joseph Linnell of Marstons Mills, Tina Linnell-Powers of New Bedford, and Paul Linnell of Barnstable as well as several grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 26 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, from 5-8 PM. Burial will be held on Friday, March 27 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, at 11:15 AM.
