Eleanore M. (Bajek) Carpenter, 84, of Centerville, previously of Hyannis, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Passaic, NJ to her late parents Joseph and Caroline (Salek) Bajek and was a graduate of Douglas College - Rutgers University ('55). After graduation Ellie worked with Pfizer as a pharmaceutical researcher from 1955-1959. On April 11, 1959 Ellie married the love of her life, the late Paul J. Carpenter (2010). They lived in Fairlawn, NJ. then later in Warminster, PA before moving to Framingham, MA in the early 1960s. In 1997, Ellie and Paul retired and moved to the Cape settling in Hyannis.
Ellie and Paul raised four children: Peter (wife Barbara) of Madison, CT; Celeste (husband Michael) Terasconi of South Dennis, MA; Elise Tordella of Greenwich, CT; and Janine of Bellingham, MA. She was the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren: Peter, Connor and Hunter Carpenter; Samantha and Jacqueline Terasconi; and Juliana and Claudia Tordella. She also leaves behind her sister Carol (husband Dr. Eugene) Wojcik of New Jersey.
Ellie loved the beaches of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Avon by the Sea in New Jersey. She often recalled her childhood at Upper Greenwood Lake in New Jersey. She also loved music, and played the piano. Nothing made her happier than being with her grandchildren, socializing with her lifelong friends, and making new friends everywhere she went.
A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory church, 230 South Main St., Centerville, MA. She will be buried next to her husband Paul at St. Francis Xavier cemetery immediately after the Mass.
