Born in Harwich, Massachusetts, November 25, 1930, to Peter and Lucy Dumont, Fred defended his country by serving in the Army and was a barber for over 40 years.
Fred was a loving father and is survived by his sons Peter and David; Peter’s wife Vanessa and daughter Heather; David’s children Christopher and Christie, and Cheryl Staples.
Fred lost his wife Virginia on September 5th 2009. He has battled with Parkinson’s and required 24-hour care for the last year. We would like to thank all of his caregivers for the kindness and attention they had for our father. We would especially like to thank Cheryl Staples for being more of a loving daughter to Fred than a caregiver. He loved her very much and she made his life so much better.
Fred requested no services or visitation. He will be interred with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on December 22nd, 2010 at 11:00am. The procession from the funeral home will leave from 160 W. Main St. Hyannis at 10am.
