Gail Nemetz-Haussmann, 67, of Osterville MA passed away on March 30th in Boston, MA. Gail was born in Hyannis to George and Elsie (Williams) Nemetz. Gail dedicated her life to the library, earning her Bachelors from UMASS Amherst and her Masters from the University of Denver. Gail spent 36 years working within Barnstable libraries and schools, and was most proud of her years spent as a children’s librarian.
Gail was preceded by her parents, George and Elsie (Williams) Nemetz, and her brother Geoffry. She is survived by her husband Michael Haussmann of Osterville, her son Geoffrey Haussmann of Osterville, and her son Evan, daughter-in-law Stephanie, and grandson Charles Haussmann of Marstons Mills, and many other loved ones, family, and friends.
A wake will be held at the Doane Beal and Ames funeral home at 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, on April 8th from 3-7pm. A private burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Hyannis or Cotuit Library Youth Services.
