

George was born and raised in Roslindale, the son of William and Madeline (Clinton) Beninghof. George served honorably in the United States Army.
In his early years, George attended Cambridge College where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior. He met his wife, Chris, on the Cape where they married in 1982 at Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.
George was a 40 year friend of Bill W.. He was committed to helping others by providing support to scores of people during that time. He enjoyed family, boating and the beach. Most of all, George will be remembered for his love and caring of others, his quick laugh and humorous story telling. He will be sorely missed.
George leaves his beloved wife of 33 years, Chris (Strickland) Beninghof; his four siblings, William J. Beninghof and wife, Sandra; Mary Ann Lucas and husband, Joseph; Thomas C. Beninghof and wife, Ann; Joseph M. Beninghof and wife, Anne; along with 13 nieces and nephews and several great grandnieces and grandnephews.
A celebration of George’s life will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis. The celebration will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. All are welcome. Stories and anecdotes would be appreciated.
