his beloved wife of over 60 years, Ute, who died on September 15, 2020.
Born on October 18, 1937 in Springfield, he was the eldest son of the late Murray Nassar and the late
Adele Abodeely Nassar. He grew up on Hungry Hill in Springfield and attended the local schools. He
graduated from UMASS Amherst and Boston College Law School.
A true old-school lawyer, George’s 52-year career will be remembered by many friends, colleagues and
clients throughout Western Massachusetts. As a trial attorney, he was an intimidating lion of advocacy.
He believed to his core in the U.S. Constitution and the right to due process. George valued words and
language, had a sharp sense of humor, was an avid reader of history, and enjoyed a well-crafted story.
During his life, he remained faithful to the law, his family, the English dictionary, paper phonebooks and
his trusty rolodex. He loved spending time in his Cape Cod home.
He is survived by his six children, Ruth, Nicole, Kye, Chris, Micah and Kira and his grand-children, Jason,
Nicholas, Eleyna, Eli and Jolie. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Judge.
