peacefully at home on Saturday, March 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Esther (Sarno) DeMartin with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge, MA on October 11, 1937, he was a son of the late Brenda Reno. Tom proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the late 50s and early 60s. He was a long time employee of Kennedy’s of Boston, transferred to their Hyannis store as manager and then worked for Puritan’s of Cape Cod for many years.
Tom attended Boston University for Retail Management and computer programming and earned his Real Estate license. He loved to play golf with his wife as well as the two going on cruises together. Tom’s proudest golfing moment was achieving a hole in one.
In addition to his wife, Esther, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Lisa DeMartin and Lori MacKenzie and “son” Scott MacKenzie; four grandchildren, Alexander (Alex), Amanda (Mandy), Cameron and Drew; and two siblings, L. Patricia DeMartin and Jane Reno-Munro; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Tom was predeceased by his siblings George, Leon (Bud), Richard and Lia Blackberg.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5th from 4pm to 8pm at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, Hyannis. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 6th at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis. Burial will be held at a later date.
