

HYANNIS - Malcolm Richard Coley, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was born in Boston, MA on June 27, 1949, the son of Malcolm Junius Coley of Cambridge, MA and Marie B. (Reavis) Coley of Hyannis, MA.
Malcolm was a product of the Cambridge Public School system. He earned an associate degree in computer science from Northeastern University. For over 37 years, he worked in computer support at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, MA. For the past 25 years, Malcolm was a sales associate at Staples in Hyannis.
Above all, Malcolm loved the Lord and was an active member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Hyannis. He was a member of the Music and Worship department there. One of his greatest joys was playing congas during their worship services. Prior to this, after giving his life to Jesus in 1986, Malcolm joined St. Paul AME Church of Cambridge, MA. where he was an active member of the Men’s Fellowship and the Men’s Choir. Malcolm was also a member of the Music Department and enjoyed playing congas there as well.
In his spare time, Malcolm loved to study the word of God and he loved music. He also enjoyed food vlogging, and photography walks along the Cape Cod Canal. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner, Carmen Caballero; son, Tony (Yvette) Perry; grandchildren, Christian and Jaden; stepchildren, Tony (Gillian) Carcia, and Angela (Thomas) Carcia Bäumler; cousins, Harry ‘Buzzy’ (Julia) McClain III of Somerville, MA, Mary Hill of Almeida, CA, and Craig (Teri Kline) Thompson of St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as a host of friends and loved ones including Alex, Tommy, and Sarah.
