

Russell was born June 19th, 1924 in Melrose, MA and was the son of the late the Edward and Margaret Moulaison. He grew up in Melrose, MA surrounded by his large extended family. Russell left high school in his junior year to join the Navy during World War Two. He became a motor machinist mate and was sent to England to prepare for the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. He landed on June 6th and assisted in unloading soldiers, and supplies as well as repairing the landing craft and keeping the landing zone clear.
Upon returning home he met his wife Ann and they married October 19th, 1946. They shared 70 beautiful years together until her passing in 2017. They had three children Donna, Patricia, and Russell Jr. He built a carpentry business, and raised his family. He was very active in his church and a life long member of the Melrose Fish and Game club. In 1971 they relocated to their summer residence on Cape Cod full time. He continued his carpentry business on the Cape until fully retiring to spend time with his family. As the years went on his family continued to grow as his grand children and great grandchildren arrived.
Russell was predeceased by the love of his life Ann, his loving daughter Donna O'Brien, grandson John Edward Waden, and his great-granddaughter Caroline O’Brien. He is survived by his loving children, daughter Patricia Waden and her husband David of Reading MA, and his son Russell and wife Catherine of Branford CT, and son-in-law John, as well as his sisters Martha Collupy and Marlene Roberts and her husband Jimmy. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday November 8th visiting hour from 9:30 to 10:30 at Doane Beal and Ames funeral home located at 160 West Main St Hyannis, MA 02601 followed by a funeral mass at 11am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church at 1581 Main St West Barnstable, MA 02668 and burial immediately following at Crocker Park Cemetery.
