OBITUARY

Susan Elizabeth Phillips

4 September, 1959 – 2 June, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Doane Beal & Ames

Susan Elizabeth Phillips, 65, of West Yarmouth, MA passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Lois (Watson) Horrigan. Born in Norwood and raised in Sharon, she lived on Cape Cod for over 45 years.

Susan was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought Susan more joy than spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She spent and cherished every possible minute with them.

She was strong, considerate and reliable. She often worried about her loved ones, reassuring them during their darkest moments that “this too shall pass.” She was loved by many and was referred to as the favorite person by some of the children who counted down the days until they could see her again. She spent endless hours, picking out thoughtful toys, dolls and games to bring joy to their lives.

Susan would actively notice and savor the beauty and wonder of nature. In addition to nature, she was an animal lover, enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and also liked watching her crime dramas.

In addition to her parents, Susan is predeceased by her stepson Andre Albury and sister Jan Quinlan. She is survived by her adored children Kim Waddell, Amy Rosa, Matthew Waddell and his wife Kelsey, Sara Waddell, Robyn Phillips and Sara’s lifetime partner Jesse Barboza, her step-daughter Miranda Owens, her cherished grandchildren James Kennedy, Jaden Waddell, Daniel Rosa, Colton Davidson, Aja Freeman, Juliana Rosa, Jessa Barboza, Raena Campbell, and Cobi Campbell, her brother David Horrigan and his wife Holly of Needham, MA, sister Sandra Nimrick and her husband Bruce of Solon, OH, brother-in-law John Quinlan of Quincy, MA and her former husband Alfred Waddell and his wife Lynn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and leaves behind her best friend Julia Wood of Sharon, MA.
