

Sylvia Frances (Tondreault) Marcoux, a longtime resident of Centerville, formerly of South Berwick, ME, passed away in the loving care of her family, at her home, on January 15, 2026. She was 87 years old. Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Roland P. “John” Marcoux who passed away in 2019.
Born in South Berwick, ME, daughter of the late Raymond and Arlene (Keniston) Tondreault, Sylvia was raised and educated there where she graduated from St. Joseph’s/St. Michael’s High School in 1952. She went on to attend McIntosh College in Dover, NH and then worked as a legal secretary for the Burns, Bryant, and Hinchey law firm in Dover, NH. Sylvia and “John” moved to Cape Cod in 1963 settling in Centerville and were the owners of the Harbor House restaurant in Hyannis for many years prior to selling the business in 1992. After her daughter Cathy’s tragic sudden passing in 2002, Sylvia was very involved with the Cathy Marcoux Fraser Scholarship Fund at Barnstable High School. Family was always first for Sylvia and her greatest enjoyment was entertaining, vacationing, and simply spending time with them. She enjoyed baking, crafts, and living life to the fullest. Sylvia will always be remembered for saying, “There always seems to be a good reason for a party or get-together for something”. She was also a dedicated communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.
In addition to her beloved husband, Sylvia was pre-deceased by her daughters, Cathy Marcoux Fraser and Lori Ann Marcoux Geiler, and her son-in-law Paul Eldridge. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Eldridge of Centerville, and her son John Marcoux (Cheryl) of Sudbury. Sylvia was the cherished grandmother of Caitlin Jones (Wes), Alyssa Martino (Robert), John Eldridge, Alexandra Marcoux, Cameron Marcoux, Emily Geiler (Jonathan Levesque), and Matthew Geiler, and great-grandmother of Grady, Landon, Wyatt, Porter, Knox, Holly, and Stevie. She is also survived by her sister Ann Ray Kelly (Brian) of Dover, NH, her sons-in-law Dean Fraser and Patrick Geiler, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.
