
Carl P. Burton, 90, of Independence, MO., passed away on June 15th, 2017 in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held Monday, June 19th 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Funeral Tuesday, June 20th at 10:00 am, both at Newcomers Noland Road Chapel, Noland and Lexington, Independence. Internment immediately following at Green Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Survived by wife, Letha Burton, 2 daughters, Laura Dorsch (Greg) and Linda Kelly (Patrick) all of Independence, MO. 7 grandchildren: Michael (Brooke) and Jason (Kashena) Scollin, Tim Dorsch (Aubrey), Teresa Dorsch Cosgrove (Mark), Sean Kelly (Kelsey), Megan and Patrick Kelly. Also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 brother Marvin and 1 sister, Fannie Dorman. Was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Eileen and Joyce and 2 brothers, Ernest and Larry.
Carl was born in Dade County, MO, near Everton. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in Germany. He retired from General Motors Fairfax after 31 years in 1980. He enjoyed his family above all, fishing and traveling throughout his long retirement. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Independence.
