

Charles (Bernie) Myers, 76, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on September 1, 2015. A visitation will be held at Noland Road Chapel (formerly D.W. Newcomers), located at 509 S Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050, at 5pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6pm. He was born on December 27, 1938, the son of Uriah D. and Helen (Reese) Myers, in Independence, MO. He attended William Chrisman High School. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Independence as a youth. He was an excellent chef. He worked for the Holiday Inn, was the owner of Myers Tom Sawyer Restaurant, and then was the Kitchen Manager/Executive Chef at Stephenson’s Restaurant for over 40 years. He loved Jesus, Gospel Music, The Royals, sweets of any kind, and his animals. He adored his daughters, Robin and Angela, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Frank and Stewart Myers. He is survived by his daughters; Robin Pfannenstiel and her husband Paul, of Blue Springs, and Angela Braun of Blue Springs, 4 grandchildren; Nichole Banks and her husband Shawn, Courtney Pfannenstiel, Taylor Braun, and Riley Braun, all of Blue Springs, 5 great-grandchildren; Gavyn, Aynslie, Kenli, Araya, and Layni, as well as his sisters; Doris Nagel, Evelyn Kays, and Carolyn Dorris, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He also left many friends, who became family, at Woods Chapel Lodge.
